30 years!!! Damn you are old!!!

I met my wife of 27 years, Denise, while at A&M. After graduating with a degree in Agronomy/Turf Management; I embarked on a career as a Golf Course Superintendent. That allowed us to live in some exotic and not so exotic places that included: Hot Springs, AR; Odessa, TX; Kona, HI;& Las Vegas, NV. I joined a Golf Course Design firm 11 years ago as a consulting agronomist on new and existing designs all over the world. We moved to the Austin area in 1999.

We have 2+ kids. Our eldest, Christina Hodnett Mott and her husband Mike Mott (who recently returned safe to us after serving as an Army Ranger in Iraq) presented us with our 1st Grandchild, Devin Michael Edward Mott, who will be 1 yr old on July 15th (OK, I guess that I am old too!). And our son, James Austin Hodnett, just graduated from Bastrop High School, and will be attending Blinn College in the fall with the intent to "stairstep" into A&M.

I am looking forward to seeing "OLD" friends and those who I have lost track of over the years. From the other postings on this site, it would seem that as a group we have aged pretty well.

Many thanks to all of those who have worked so hard to put this together!

Cheers!

Hi everyone!  I am really looking forward to seeing everyone at our reunion!  After high school I graduated from TAMU with a degree in accounting and started a career in Bryan.  I moved to Houston when I married and worked both in Kansas City, Missouri for an oil and gas pipeline company and then in Houston. During the past 21 years of married life, we lived in Florida, St Croix (US Virgin Islands) and back in Houston.
I have 2 wonderful children, a daughter, Kristin, who is 17 yrs old and a senior this fall at Stratford HS in Houston and a son, Brandon, who is 15 yrs old and a freshman this fall at Stratford HS.
I was very blessed to be able to stay at home with my children, and was heavily involved as a volunteer in the PTA.  Over the past 6 years we began buying, remodeling and selling homes.  Successful, but alot of work!  And now that my children are older, I will be re-entering the work force

I think it is great that this has been put together.  I get back to B/CS all the time to see my mom and in business and am always amazed that I don't run into more folks.  Maybe I'm trying the wrong bars.

Our company recently acquired an engineering firm in Bryan and we just cut the ribbon on a new location we moved into in the business park just past Easterwood off Jones Road.  Part of my work the past year and a half has been organizing a practice in an acquisition in San Antonio and now that that has achieved some critical mass, I should be working to establish a group in the Brazos Valley and hope to spend more time in the old familiar places.  Of course you can't beat Austin for the weekends!

My Mother told me that I was on the "missing list", and, I didnt want to be on anyones missing list!!  I stayed in B/CS for a couple of years, working for GTE and the Bryan Eagle.  I got skinny, joined the Army, spent 6 years in The Army, stationed in Gernany as a medic.  So as it turns out, all of those years of German paid off.  I've had a wonderful life, done whatever I wanted, and am surrounded by a Loving Family and many friends.  At the end of the day, isn't that what it's all about?  I tested positive for HIV in 1986 and am lucky and blessed to be alive, so I enjoy every minute.  I Love being back home in Missouri, it is where I belong and will probably never set foot in Texas again.  I survived something many did not, so I do not want to  be on anyone's "missing" list.  I've had a great life, traveled the world, had many adventures, life changing experiences and simply could not be more happy and blessed.  Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote a poem called "Success" . . . . google it . . . I know I am a huge Success!

I moved to Austin in '97, after living in the Boston area for about 10 years.  I spend a lot of my spare time on my bikes, either on- or off-road (I weigh less now than I did in '78, and it's not all due to hair loss :-).  Highlights have been cycling trips through France and Italy, to follow the Tour de France and Giro d'Italia.
